VORTEX® D.H.Z. Crosshead

Customers have run their products very successfully now for more than a decade on our standard, single heat zone VORTEX® design, yet have discovered the merits of, and prefer, the D.H.Z. (Dual Heat Zone) for both high and low temperature applications.

With all the simplicity, accuracy and speed of the VORTEX®, the D.H.Z. has the die area of the crosshead body reduced to create a second heat zone. A second thermocouple port is placed in the die area to allow separate control from that of the main crosshead body. The separate heat zone allows for a potential overall better finish, surface finish (shine), reduction in cone breaks, and helps to eliminate die drool and melt fracture all at greatly increased line speeds.
